  • Exposition:The police get to 145th street and the narrator and his friends are there, not knowing what was going on.Literary Elements:
  • Inciting Incident: The police start shooting at the building because they think the shooter is in it.Literary Elements: 
  • Rising Action: The narrator and his friends did not want to get caught in the crossfire so they sneak away into a nearby restaurant
  • Climax: The police take the narrator to go with them to see if they got the shooter.
  • Falling Action: The police find the dog's body were they shot up and then one policeman commented and said the dog was the "baddest dog in Harlem.Literary Elements:
  • Resolution: The police go into the next apartment and find a boy who was was shot and died. Literary Elements: Metaphor and Personification
