Storyboard Text

  • The night of the State Championships, saw the Panthers play the Virginia Cavaliers, who had won the past 2 years. While the team got ready to play, all the town people came out to watch. It was good to see the white and black people sitting next to each other. At the time race wasn’t important, winning the State Championship really was important.
  • The game was tough and challenging. The scores were close and the Cavaliers were just in front.
  • The team started working well together but the town people  were upset. Some of the shop keepers refused to serve some of the black players. There were fights breaking out in the school hall but the Panthers stayed strong.
  • I do not want to serve you people anything
  • At the first football game, the black supporters sat away from the white supporters. The white crowd yelled nasty comments to each other and about the black players on the field. The players didn’t listen but just played the game and they won.
  • We won't win this game because we have players on our team
