This is my seventy seventh lottery and I still have not won.
Figure of speech-hyperbole
For symbolism I picked old man Warner because I think he symbolizes luck in the lottery. Old man Warner has not won the lottery for 77 years and I think sense people have seen him not win in his whole life that they might hope the same for them.
Tone and Theme- Suspensful
For imagery in the book said," the flowers were blossoming profusely and the grass was richely green." In the picture it is showing alot of flowers and richely green grass.
Figure of Speech- Personification
The black box grew sharper.
In the story is said," It was raining boulders." Which means the rocks felt like boulders when they were being thrown at the lady that won the lottery.
The tone of the story felt suspenful because we did not know who was going to win the lottery. We also did not know what happpened when you won the lottery so we were left in suspense the whole story.
When the story said that the black box grew sharper. It was saying that time was running out and that everyone is getting anxious to see who gets picked.
