Storyboard Text

  • Oh no!
  • Both of our vehicles are out of gas! How are we supposed to get home now?
  • Hey! I have an idea. We can just push our vehicles to the nearest gas station.
  • That's a great idea! I'll push my truck and you'll push your car.
  • Can't breathe....How come pushing my truck is so much harder than pushing your car?
  • Wow, pushing a car isn't as hard as I thought it was.
  • Because of Newton's second law of motion. The acceleration of an object is dependent on its mass and the net force acting on it.
  • So to increase the acceleration and for the car to move faster I need to apply a larger net force?
  • Yup, your vehicle has a greater mass than mine which is why it takes more force to push yours.
  • Wow! Sir Isaac Newton is smart to discover the law of force. Is that a tow truck I see?!
