Principle 2: Overproduction and the Struggle to Survive
Principle 3: Differential Survival and Reproduction (Survival of the Fittest)
In the flying fish population not all the fish can fly out of the water and stay there for a long time. Fish that weight too much aren't able to stay out of the water for too long.
Principle 4: Change in the Gene Pool
The fish may be able to get away from predators in the water but there are still dangers outside the water too. Fish cant stay outside the water forever without water and they cant get away from predators in the water everytime.
Organism: Flying Fish Environment: Ocean Trait Selected for: Weight of the fish Adaptation Type: physical/ structural
Fish that weight less are able to fly higher and longer than those that weight more. Flying fish that live longer can reproduce and make more of the organism
Fish started weighting more and weren't able to stay above the water long enough to get away from predators.
