One Morning, during summer vacation I was sleeping as usual, but then when I woke up, I heard a huge crack when I turned my neck. I began to feel excruciating pain coming from my neck, pain I’ve never felt before.
I started screaming at the top of my lungs to see if my parents would come and get me because I couldn't move at all. Nobody seemed to hear me. I screamed one more time and I heard my dad come up stairs and I said to myself, "Thank God that worked."
My dad came into my room and saw the pain I was in and saw I couldn’t move so the only choice we had was to call an ambulance to go to the hospital and see what was wrong with my neck. The ambulance rushed me towards the hospital.
The doctor came to check on me to see what was causing my neck pain and he said he was pretty sure it was a very bad neck contraction because of how stiff my neck felt.
Soon after, they moved me to the x-ray room to take an x-ray of my neck, and then an MRI to make sure nothing serious was wrong. After, and hour or so the doctor came back with the good news that nothing was wrong.
Shortly after that, the doctor told me I could go home. I had to take some anti-inflammatory medication for 3 days, wear a neck brace, and use an orthopedic pillow to prevent this from happing again.
