  • Hey Ashlynn! Are you heading to science? I heard that Miss Johnson gave us a new unit this week.
  • Yeah! We're learning about constructive and destructive forces. The class is doing a project on sand dunes today!
  • Constructive forces is when sediments are deposited into an area creating a new land form overtime, volcanoes are also a constructive force along with sand dunes and river deltas. Destructive forces is when a land form gets weathered and eroded away.
  • I'm pretty sure I've heard of those before... aren't sand dunes those sand hills before you get to the beach?
  • Yep! Sediments are carried by the water in the ocean and is deposited onto the beach, creating sand dunes! Sand dunes are made up of sand but they also have rocks or plants keeping them from going flat.
  • Sand dunes are so cool! I wish I had science instead of math...
  • Yeah science is amazing, I never knew I would enjoy learning about constructive and destructive forces. so much! Did you know that sand dunes were a constructive force? It's so interesting!
  • Okay I'll see you guys later! I'll get a table for us at lunch.
  • Hi Lexi! I was just gonna walk to class with Ashlynn.
