  • Hamlet finds out that Claudius killed his father by pouring poison into his ear.
  • With mirth in funeral and with dirge in marriage, in equal scale weighing delight and dole.
  • Claudius marries Queen Gertrude, causing Hamlet to seek revenge.
  • But break, my heart, for I must hold my tongue.
  • And am I then revenged, to take him in the purging of his soul, when he is fit and seasoned for his passage? No!
  • Hamlet goes to kill Claudius, but he realizes that Claudius is praying, so he refrains.
  • Hamlet kills Polonius, believing him to be Claudius.
  • A bloody deed - almost as bad, good Mother, as kill a king, and marry with his brother.
  • Claudius forms a plot to kill Hamlet in a duel with Laertes.
  • I'll be your foil, Laertes. In mine ignorance your skill shall, like a star i' the darkest night, stick fiery off indeed.
  • Hamlet realizes the plot after Queen Gertrude drinks from the poisoned cup and dies. He forces Claudius to drink from the cup, killing the king and avenging his father's death.
  • Drink off this potion. Is thy union here? Follow my mother.
