Streetcar storyboardthat assignment
This storyboard does not have a description.
This is Stanley Kowalski. "Since earliest manhood the center of [Stanley’s] life has been pleasure with women, the giving and taking of it, not with weak indulgence, dependently, but with the power and pride of a richly feathered male bird among hens."
"Now just remember what Huey Long said - that every man's a king - and I'm the King around here, and don't you forget it."
This is gender commentary because Stanley is taking control of what they say or believe. Stanley believes that he is king and no matter where he came from, they will be beneath him because he is a man and they are women.
"How about my supper, huh? I'm not going to no Galatoire's for supper!"
This is gender commentary because Stanley expects Stella to make him dinner. In these times, the men were the providers and the women took care of the house and children which included making dinner.
This is like life because until only a couple years ago, this was the way everyday life was for women and men. Everybody had their roles and actions to partake in and had things expected of them. Lots of stuff has now changed in this generation, roles are (not as) expected now and women are able and known of having (important) jobs and men can stay home and be housedads.
