Aeneas was the prince of Troy and the son of the goddess Venus. He escaped Troy as it was destroyed, managing to save his father but not his wife. He was told to follow the will of Jupiter and create a new city for the Trojans in Italy.
However Juno, Jupiter's wife, hated Aeneas and all the Trojans because Paris chose Venus over her as the most beautiful woman. She also knew that Aeneas' descendents would destroy Carthage, her favourite city. She stopped him from reaching Italy at the start and sent him on many adventures.
Aeneas encountered all the things that Odysseus did, including the sirens, Scylla and the Cyclops, but he managed to do so without harming his men or leaving them behind. This made Aeneas better than his Greek counter parts who had distinctive flaws.
He landed on the coast of Carthage and he met Dido, the queen. They seemed to fall in love and Dido assumed they were married. However, Aeneas wanted to stay but his quest meant he could not so he left Dido. Dido watched him leave and then juped ontoa funeral pyre and stabbed herself to death as she cursed Aeneas.
Aeneas also is told to go to the underworld by his father, who had recently passed, in a dream. There he finds Dido and trys to apoligise but she refuses to speak to him. He sees where the good people are treated, in the Elysian Fields. Here he sees his father, who shoes him his descendents.
He finally arrives in Italy where the king, Latinus, offers here daughter, Lavinia, who is already engaged to Turnus. He and Turnus fight for a really really long time. Pallas his friend dies and so Aeneas goes on a killing spree. Finally he beats Turnus in a one on one fight.
