Blue, our main character, is a 4th grade student in the United States. Today, she is going to school for the last time before she moves to Ethiopia. Her mother got a job and the family must move with her.
Blue is really sad to be moving. She loves school and her teacher. She is afraid that she will not get a good education in Ethiopia, which is one of the worst places for primary education due to lack of resources.
During her classes, Blue tries to think about some solutions to her problem. She thought of the idea to have teachers come from the United States to train teachers in countries with poor education.
The only problem that she could think of is that the teachers might not be able to afford to take time off of work or travel.
That's when she realized that teachers could get scholarships or paid leave to train the teachers in the other countries. Also, they would be able to learn a whole new language and culture. That is amazing!
Blue left school that day with an optimistic attitude. She couldn't wait to get home to propose her solution to her parents. They could help her make it happen since they were good people and cared about global issues!
