Sleep expert doctors hit the street to ask people what unusual things they do to get to sleep at night.
Sleep Test #1: Blue Light
Man on the Street Scene - Part II
Tell them about that weird thing you do at night to go to sleep.
Here we'll have our doctors on the street finding people to talk to about their unusual sleep-promoting habits. We'll have a cameraman as well, so we can film in a similar style to the HealthLab segment on lying to your doctor.
Sleep Test #2: Melatonin
In this sequence, we meet our test subject, who will be hooked up to monitors. We will test their circadian rhythms, sleep efficiency and quality, after they stop using electronics with "blue light" 1 hour before bedtime.
Man on the Street Scene - Part III
And the most unusual sleep-promoting habit we've discovered here today is ....
We'll then cut to the doctors speaking to the people who gave the most interesting or funny answers.
Sleep Test #3: The Weird One
In this sequence, our test subject will be testing sleep after taking low dosages of melatonin supplements. While there is research indicating that melatonin supplements can assist in sleep, it is not as established as information around blue light.
Finally, we'll have the doctors report back on screen with the most interesting or funny sleep-promoting habit that they heard from people. This will be the basis for our "totally unscientific" method of sleep promotion for the on-air test subject (Dan's role at HealthLab).
Final sequence will have the test subject test the "weirdest" sleep-promoting habit discovered during the man on the street interviews.
