Storyboard Text

  • Jenna was a very shy girl who didn't have many friends. She was that girl who had the best heart and the greatest intentions, but people had a hard time seeing that.
  • She often came to this coffee shop alone to watch the people as they went by, wishing she had someone to talk to.
  • Jenna often felt like she had no purpose in the world.
  • Jenna lived with her dog Pablo, and her father Bill who was always working. He hardly had any time for her. She was often left unattended at home by herself.
  • Don't get me wrong, her father was a good man. He just didn't realize that he should balance out his work and home schedule to spend more time with his daughter.
  • One day when Jenna was getting the mail, she noticed a boy in the distance, smiling at her. She smiled back.
  • They introduced themselves, first Jenna, then the boy. His name was Sam. Though Jenna was shy, she had no problem expressing herself to this boy. It was almost as if she had already known him her whole life.
  • Sam decided to ask Jenna to go to the coffee shop with him, and get to know each other a little better. Jenna agreed.
  • Man vs. Self: Jenna feels like she has no purpose in the world, so she is doubting herself.
  • When the two got to the coffee shop, Sam bought them both drinks and they sat down at the table. They talked for an hour and gave each other their phone numbers. Jenna found out Sam would start going to her school tomorrow. She was so happy.
  • Wait till everyone sees Jenna and her loser friend.
  • Then 2 girls from Jenna's school showed up, Ava and Regina. They were usually mean to Jenna, but to her surprise they kindly said hi.
  •  Then one pulled out their phone. Jenna grew curious.
  • Man vs. Man: Jenna and her father are always apart since he doesn't make time for her, so they are in a conflict with each other for time.
  • The next day at school, Jenna looked at her phone and saw a picture pop up on her screen. She didn't know how to feel about it. Then she got a text from Sam, and it surprised her.
  • LOSERSSS
  • Why would they do this to me?
  • After class Ava and Regina appeared at Jenna's locker and told her that she is a loser, and that now everyone knows it.
  • No Conflict
  • The thing was Jenna didn't care. She was given some hope and support from a friend.
  • I agree. If I'm good at anything, its being a loser. I'm glad its with you.
  • I saw the picture, and i don't care. You are amazing, so lets be losers together.
  • Sam
  • Man vs. Society: These mean girls assume that Jenna will be ashamed of being seen with a loser, because of modern society.
  • Man vs. Technology: Ava and Regina use technology to cyber bully Jenna and Sam.
  • No conflict. Jenna realizes she is important, special, and not afraid to be herself.
  • From that day forward Jenna never cared what anyone said to her. She began going to the coffee shop with her best friend Sam and they watched the people as they went by, together.
