  • Mouth: begins the mechanical digestion process; inside the mouth are molars and incisors Teeth: grinds food so that you don't choke
  • Digestive System
  • Stomach: The stomach mixes and churns food to form chyme
  • Esophagus: moves food to the stomach
  • Small Intestine: where most of the digestion happens Villi: increase the surface area for absorption and are in small intestine

  • Rectum: Last step of the digestion process, where the waste is stored.
  • Large Intestine: absorbs water from the remaining indigestible food matter

  • Liver: process nutrients from small intestine
  • Excretory System
  • Ureter: a tube that carries urine from the kidneys to the urinary bladder
  • Kidneys: extract waste from blood
  • Bladder: the organ that collects the urine from the urethra

  • Filtration: blood is filtered to remove waste and excess water Reabsorption: the process of taking up nutrients and water that have been filtered Excretion: getting rid of waste matter
  • Nephrons: produces urine and makes up the kidneys Sphincter: one of the muscles that controls the exit of urine
