  • Women's thoughts were shaped by men. For example, in the small chance high class women were able to speak their minds, the things they said are what men told them to say. Also, women, even ones who were privileged, had little to no control on how they lived their lives because their fathers and other family members chose everything for them.  This shows that women were considered less important in the 1500's because if everything in a woman's life was shaped by men, including their ideas, they did not know any different, so being less important was the normal because it is all they knew, and they could not speak out for a new normal for women's rights.
  •  People's thoughts were shaped by the bible. For example, in the bible, Eve tempted Adam into eating the apple that God told them not to eat, so this gave people the idea that women were weaker, and they would tempt men into sin. Also, in the chapter Peter of the bible, it states, "Husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel..." This shows that women were less important than men because most people studied the bible, and they wanted to follow the rules of the religion. People then believed that women were less important, and men would ignore them because they did not want to sin like Adam did because of Eve in the bible.
  • Women were considered weaker than men. For example, most women in the 1500’s were not in powerful positions because they were seen as weak by society. Also, the bible makes it clear that women have weaker emotional strength than men. This shows that women were considered less important than men in the 1500’s because people tend to look down on weak people because it is assumed that they have nothing good to say, and they are not as good as them. Also, many people believed that women were emotionally weaker because the bible said so, so men would not see them as respectable and important.
