Storyboard Text

  • Night
  • man vs. man
  • "I will give you my ration of bread, please stop beating my father"
  • " I will give you my ration of bread, please stop beating my father"
  • man vs. self
  • I thought this would be a good cover page for night, for it shows Elie and his father outside the camp behind a fence with smoke rising from the chimney's, and in the background all the dead souls that didn't make it.
  • My Character is......
  • " They wrote my name down I didn't see him but he did, I want to give you this, take it!"
  • This man vs. man conflict stood out to me, for Elie's father is very sick, and the men in the bunks with him is beating him when Elie leaves to go to roll call. Elie's father tells Elie about them beating him, and Elie yells at them to stop beating his father, and that he will give them his ration of bread if they stop, and Elie starts beating one of them like they did his father . The other men mocks and laughs at Elie.
  • Symbol
  • "NO father! don't talk like that!"
  • This man vs. self conflict stood out to me the most, for the Nazis are making them watch a little boy being hung. Seeing a little boy being killed for no good reason and having to watch, or you might get killed can have a big impact on your mind. Elie asks himself where is God? Why is God letting this happen? Is God even there? He is questioning his faith, for God isn't answering his prayers, and how God would let something so horrible happen to people that worships him.
  • My theme is Dehumanization
  • My character is Juliek in this scene Juliek and Elie they are trapped in this room with a brunch of dead body stacked on top of each other. Elie closes his to sleep, and he starts to hear the sound of beve he looks over and juliek is playing his violin as he passes over. Juliek impacts Elie to have hope again, because when the slience broke it was powerful and peaceful. Juliek also impacted Elie by telling him right from wrong in the warehouse. Juliek was a peaceful man that loved to play his violin because it soohed him.
  • My symbol is the spoon, for it represents remembrance and inheritance. The spoon is the only thing Elie's father has left. He is giving it to Elie, for he didn't pass the first selection, and he wants Elie to have it to remember him by if he don't pass the second selection.
  • I thought this picture would be good for this theme, for the Nazis treated them like animals, and called them animals. When Elie arrived at Auschwitz the Nazis were pulling them out of the cattle carts, and telling them to move faster "wild dogs". They would whip people to make them walk faster, and stripping them of all their belongings till they had nothing left.
