Hi! My name is Rebecca and this is my story. This is my daughter Ally. I am 18 years old and Ally is 4 months old. I have never had a job but I am working towards one right now. I enjoy working with numbers and running.
I got pregnant at 17 with Ally and because I decided to keep my baby, my parents decided to kick me out of the house.
Well TANF stands for temporary assistance for needy families and you qualify for it!
What am I going to do now that my parents are kicking me out of the house? I don't have any money. How am I going to take care of Ally?
You can qualify for TANF if you have a child and you are under the age of 19. You have to be a US Citizen and you have to be developing a plan to become self-sufficient
TANF wants to make sure that the children are receiving the best possible care.
TANF provides me with the opportunity to finish out High School by providing me with child care and some job training. I am training to become an accountant because I enjoy working with numbers.
Now I am working as an accountant and earning money on my own. I am slowly waning off of TANF but I am forever grateful for the support that I received from them.
