Storyboard Text

  • Simile
  • "The basement room was dark and warm, like the inside of a sealed jar."
  • "I want to be in the sorority."
  • Mood
  • "I don't want to be in the sorority."
  • Symbolism
  • "Excuse me, sir," Millicent smiled, "but I'm taking a survey. What do you eat for breakfast?" "Heather birds' eyebrows on toast," the little man rattled off.
  • It makes the basement seem dark and tight. They used this to show that the basement is tight and together. She felt like this right before the flashback.
  • Quote
  • So the sorority girls would get the most popular boys to go up to the "gophers" and ask them out, or try to start them talking, and sometimes a "gophet" was taken by surprise and began to say something before she could catch herself.
  • The mood in the story is confusing because Millicent wanted to be in the sorority but towards the end of the story she saw that it wasn't what shes interested in.
  • Character
  • "Excuse me, sir," Millicent smiled, "but I'm taking a survey. What do you eat for breakfast?"
  • The heather bird symbolises her being herself. It shows that she doesn't want to do things to make her popular but to make her a better friend.
  • Theme
  • "I miss Tracey."
  • The girls get asked out by the most popular guys. MIllicent doesn't care if she gets asked by the most popular or not. She got caught smiling at a guy and her sister was not happy
  • Millicent is a very nice and kind. When he best friend wasn't in her sorority she dropped out so that she could still hang out with her. She also shows she doesn't care about being popular.
  • The theme is fitting in with everyone isn't as good as staying true to yourself. She dropped out to be with her best friend. She also dropped out of the sorority so she couldbe her self and hang out and be who she wants
