  • My friend and I were playing in the park in front of Mr. Gold's shop on a beautiful sunny day, having a good time, until she got mad at me and we had an argument. I can't even remember what we fought about, but I can remember about how it changed my life for the better.

  • At the time there was a girl name Ellie, she was a charismatic and kind person. The person everyone would talk to about their problems, and she loved helping people. So naturally, I went to her when I saw her sitting on the curb in front of the dairy to tell her what happened and to get advice. But as I was talking, I noticed something about Ellie...
  • Thank you Madison, for helping me, you make me feel happy.
  • I noticed that Ellie was actually sad herself, and not just sad but depressed even. I felt so guilty, how could I be so selfish? How could I not notice this about her, or even try to help when she had helped so many people herself?
  • I find out that the reason Ellie tries to help everyone is because she doesn't wish that anyone feels how she does. But how come she doesn't help herself? How could she live so miserably and still be so selfless? I decided I would help her, she more than deserves it.
  • Thanks Madison.
  • I will help you, I will be there for you Ellie!
  • From that point forward we were best friends, we went to parks and carnivals and aquariums (we both loved fish) and loads of other places together. We helped eachother through hard times in our lives. I remember her telling me one time at the state fair, "Thank you Madison, for helping me, you make me feel happy." I felt so grateful that I had noticed how she was feeling and had decided to help her that day.
  • We stayed friends for many years, and when we were adults we opened a counseling office together. We both discovered we enjoyed helping people, and I am so happy I get to do that everyday. If it wasn't for Ellie, I might not be where I am now. I learned from her that people who help others still need help themselves. So give them a hand, and you won't regret it.
