  • In Montgomery, Alabama everything was segregated and when the whites section was full on a bus the blacks wold be forced to give up their seat.
  • On December 1, 1955, the secretary of the NAACP, Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on the bus to a white man
  • Because Rosa Parks was disobeying the law she was arrested.
  • After Rosa Parks arrest many African Americans choose to boycott the Montgomery Alabama bus transportation.
  • In 1956 the Supreme Court decided that segregation at the Montgomery bus stations was unconstitutional.
  • After that the blacks and whites were equally allowed on buses.
