This is the boardinghouse that I live at!
Most Lowell Mill Girls lived in a boardinghouse. This boardinghouses had 8 units, and there are 20-40 girls per unit.
I share a room with three other people with only two beds. There is also a fireplace to keep warm.
It's food time!
The keeper of this boardinghouse provides three meals for us a day. The meals are ate in the common room.
I work at the Lowell Mill for 12-14 hours a day, but on Saturdays I only work a half day. On Sundays there is no work, but I am expected to attend church.
The factory that I work has terrible working conditions, low wages, and long hours.
Since we all work at the mill, we have made lots of friends.
Since we live at a boardinghouse, our curfew is 10:00 pm.
