How shall the people call you now that you are president?
President of the United States is fine.
For my cabinet, I choose five people, and two of them with be Alexander Hamilton, and Thomas Jefferson.
The nation's capital!
George Washington was the first president, and he started a new form of government in the United States for his people. As the first president, George Washington had to make precedents which were decisions made for people to follow as an example.
Yes! more money!
Selling bonds is a terrible idea to get money to pay for the national debt!
To start off the government, George Washington made his cabinet, which was a group of people who helped him make decisions, and helped think of ideas.
I am going to have a national bank to be built to hold the country's' money.
I want a tariff to be made, but the south does not want it, so I need to think of another idea on how to make money for the country.
A bank is fine, but why would you make a tariff on goods from other countries if the south has business with other countries?
Then to set up a supreme court system, congress and George Washington made the Judiciary act. This act organized what the supreme court would be made of. It included, a Chief Justice, who was John Jay at the time, and it included five Associate justices. Also, state courts were made.
I can't believe congress passed a bill saying we have to pay taxes on liquor!
To get the south to help pay money to help the north pay their money for the debt, even though the south did pay their share to help, Alexander Hamilton came up with a compromise to get the south to actually help. Hamilton got money for the debt another way too.
If people from the south help pay the debt that the north owes, you can have the nation's capital more in the south.
Well haha, we are doing it anyway.
The U.S was in national debt. Hamilton came up with a plan on how the country was going to get money they were in debt from from the revolutionary war. One idea to get money was to make a tariff. He also got a bank to be built for the nation.
Farmers got mad at the new liquor law, so they started the whiskey rebellion. The farmers did not follow the law, and they got violent. Then the president got involved to stop the chaos.
Now our pay and buisness will be messed up because we make and sell whiskey from the corn we grow on our farms!
