  • Odysseus is being held captive by Kalypso!
  • Don't worry I got this
  • HERMES!!
  • Go tell Kalypso to let Odysseus go.
  • Got it!
  • Fine, I guess if I have to.
  • Dad says you have to let Odysseus go.
  • *sob sob cry cry*
  • Athene reminds Zeus of Odysseus, who is being held captive by Kalypso: ""Kalypso, and she detains him by contraint, and he cannot make his way to his country"" (5.14).
  • Cut down these trees and build a raft for yourself.
  • She's letting me go?
  • Zeus sends Hermes to ""announce to the nymph with the lovely hair our absolute: the homecoming of enduring Odysseus"" (5.30).
  • Farewell, shining Kalypso!

  • Hermes breaks the news to Kalypso, ""Now Zeus tells you to send him on his way with all speed"" while Odysseus sits on the beach crying for his wife and home. (5.111)
  • Kalypso tells Odysseus that she is letting him return home and that he must build a ship and she well send him off with good will: "I will wish you well" (5.205).
  • Odysseus sails away from Ogygia: "Glorious Odysseus, happy with the wind, spread sails" (5.269).
