  • S=($7)(40%) S=(7)(0.40) 7(0.40)=2.80 $7-$2.80=$4.20    S=$4.20
  • $4.20(3)=S  4.20(3)=12.60  S=$12.60
  • If you buy three pineapples, how much money will you spend?
  • Tax=($4.20)(25%)             Tax=(4.20)(0.25)             4.20(0.25)=1.05             1.05(3)=3.15             Tax=$3.15             $3.15+$12.60=$15.75             S=$15.75
