Storyboard Text

  • This scene shows a representative democracy. A representative democracy is when a group of people rules over a place or kingdom at once.
  • This represents a direct democracy, where two candidates battle to get to the top of the votes. Only one person will run as president.
  • Both representative and direct democracies went as back as Ancient Athens.
  • In order to vote for someone, or a group of people running, you must first become a citizen. You have to meet certain eligibility requirements and go through the naturalization process.
  • In Ancient Athens, women could not vote for someone/a group of people, while today, any citizen can vote.
  • You can vote online, too. The rules apply the same; you have to be a citizen in order to vote.

  • * Disclaimer: You can only vote once!
