Storyboard Text

  • You gave me Leah. Why did you trick me?
  • But if you work for me another 7 years, I'll give you Rachel by the end of next week.
  • Fine. I'll do it.
  • I'm not supposed to marry off the younger before the older.
  • List of Kids Leah's: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun Rachel's: Joseph, Benjamin Bilhah's: Dan, Naphtali Zilpah's: Gad, Asher
  • Jacob.
  • I have seen God face to face, and yet my life has been delivered.
  • From now on, it will be Israel, for you have wrestled with God and men and have prevailed
  • Not until you bless me.
  • Release me.
  • What your name?
  • Jacob said to Laban, “Give me my wife that I may go in to her, for my time is completed.” Laban gathered together all the people of the place and made a feast. But in the evening he took his daughter Leah and brought her to Jacob, and he went in to her. And in the morning, behold, it was Leah! And Jacob said to Laban, “Did I not serve with you for Rachel? Why then have you deceived me?"  Jacob did so, and completed her week. Then Laban gave him his daughter Rachel to be his wife.
  • My dear brother!
  • Who are these?
  • When the Lord saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb, but Rachel was barren. Then she said, “Here is my servant Bilhah; go in to her, so that she may give birth on my behalf. When Leah saw that she had ceased bearing children, she took her servant Zilpah and gave her to Jacob as a wife. So he lay with Leah that night.  And Leah conceived again. Then God remembered Rachel, and God listened to her and opened her womb.
  • I shall call him Ben-oni, for he is the son of my strength and sorrow.
  • I shall call him Benjamin, for he will be the son of my right hand.
  • So Jacob arose and set his sons and his wives on camels to go to Canaan. He crossed the ford of the Jabbok. And a man wrestled with him until the breaking of the day. When the man saw that he did not prevail against Jacob, he touched his hip socket, and Jacob's hip was put out of joint as he wrestled with him. He said to him, “What is your name?” And he said, “Jacob.” he said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with men, and have prevailed.”
  • Jacob lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, Esau was coming, and four hundred men with him. He himself went on before them, bowing himself to the ground seven times, until he came near to his brother. But Esau ran to meet him and embraced him and fell on his neck and kissed him, and they wept. He said, “Who are these with you?” Jacob said, “The children whom God has graciously given your servant.” Esau returned that day on his way to Seir, but Jacob journeyed to Succoth.
  • No lord, I shall go to Succoth.
  • Your servant's family.
  • Let us go on together to Seir.
  • Then they journeyed from Bethel. When they were still some distance from Ephrath, Rachel went into labor, and she had hard labor. And when her labor was at its hardest, the midwife said to her, “Do not fear, for you have another son.” And as her soul was departing (for she was dying), she called his name Ben-oni; but his father called him Benjamin.
  • Do not fear. You have a son.
