Storyboard Text

  • Oh no! We better get ready!
  •  Breaking News: Tsunami warning on the coast of Florida! Make sure every family has food, water and a back up source of electricity if the power goes out in your region.
  • We better get ready, Sam, go grab all of the canned food in the cupboard and Abbey go find the bottles of water.
  • Okay Dad.
  • All done.
  • Hey dad, what are we going to use as our source of electricity?
  • Well we can use an electrical motor or a generator from the garage.
  • What's the difference between an electrical motor and a generator?
  • A generator converts mechanical energy into electrical energy, whilst a motor does the opposite. A motor converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. Both devices work because of electromagnetic induction, which is when a voltage is induced by a changing magnetic field.
  • I found the generator guys!
  • Let's go downstairs and i'll explain a bit more about it.
  • Cool, we were just talking to dad about it.
