  • Because of the Battle of Brooklyn, General Howe and his troops were in control of Brooklyn for the rest of the Revolution.
  • Valley Forge
  • The Crisis
  • This was the last battle of the revolution and it proved Britain that we were starting our own country.
  • Battle of Trenton and Princeton
  • This battle proved to France that the Patriots could win the war, and we became allies.
  • The Southern Campaign
  • Washington read aloud Thomas Paine's "The Crisis" was to the troops. It encouraged the troops to keep fighting.
  • Washington crossed the Delaware River with his troops and captured the Hessians. Thanks to this battle, the Patriots were much more enthusiastic and confident.
  • It was the first time the Patriots won in the south. The British fled and eventually went to Yorktown, and the war ended.
