Storyboard Description

Cattle Ranching, and many other things are the number one leading cause of deforestation in Brazil. This comic strip shows that deforestation not only affects the pants and animals, but also the entire ecosystem that was once there. The most dramatic impact from deforestation is habitat loss to all the animals. Did you know that eighty percent of Earth's land animals and plants live in forests, and many cannot survive the deforestation that destroys their homes? Deforestation also causes climate change, and drought in the soil. Because there is no longer protection from then sun the soil tends to get very dry. Did you also know that trees have a very big role in the water system/cycle. "Trees also help perpetuate the water cycle by returning water vapor to the atmosphere. Without trees to fill these roles, many former forest lands can quickly become barren deserts." (Which is shown in cell 4) Trees also play a critical role in supporting the earth's atmosphere from green house gases that fuel global warming. So that means without tree's we are more likely to have global warming often, and dirtier air.
