Storyboard Text

  • Okay class tomorrow is Pi Day! Don't forget your circular desserts!
  • How am I going to cut this strawberry pie?
  • I really hope that Ms. Reyes can help me cut it so the whole class can have a piece
  • Yeah, I don't know either.
  • Well, I don't really know how we can cut this evenly.
  • That is when Pi comes into play! With Pi we can figure out how to cut it.
  • But, How?
  • Well, pi was discovered by William Jones in 1706.
  • But how does it tell us how to cut it?
  • Pi is infinite and a non-repeating sequence of digits. It is a ratio of circumference to diameter of a circle.
  • With the unit circle! Pi measures every angle of the unit circle and uses it as a measurement.
  • We can use those measurements to find the exact angle at which we'd have to cut the pie.
