  • Shaun identified sharing emotions as a behavior he wants to work on.
  • Explain
  • Shaun searched for things that would help him be more open. He downloaded an app that lets him communicate with his friends.
  • Assess
  • My friends noticed that I am more optimistic. My doctor also said that sharing feelings more can lower my risk of dementia when I get older!
  • Shaun is going to start talking to people he's close to about how he feels. He will practice conversation with his sister, Selene (health enhancing behavior) and will not lie about how he truly feels (risky behavior).
  • Reflect
  • Have I told them everything that is bothering me?
  • Shaun explained to Selene that he wants to explain his emotions with others, too. She will be supportive of him (PF) and she will encourage him if he starts to feel like he wants to be isolated (RF). 
  • After a few weeks focusing on sharing his emotions, Shaun starts to feel happier and sees the health benefits of being social with his emotions.
  • Shaun reflects on his behavior change.
