Benedick decides to talk to himself alone in his room.Contemplating what he wants to see in a girl.
Benedick spies on prince's and Leonato's conversation. Secretly leonato and prince knew benedick was in the room and made lies to convince benedick that Beatrice likes her. By making it seem like this was a conversation only between prince and leonato.
Benedick after hearing what prince and Leonato said starts to be nice and kind to Beatrice. Though Beatrice doesn't understand whats going on with benedick so she continues to insult him.
