Commander Ulysses S. Grant was the commander of the Union Army. He was known for his very strategic thinking and his many wins during the Civil War. He was also know as a very good and successful leader.
I don't care what other will say about more or if they don't accept me, I'm going to fight for my country no matter what.
Jefferson Davis was the president of the Confederate States of America. He was known for his cunning mind but also his narrow thinking.

General Robert E. Lee was the General for the Confederate States of America. Like Jefferson Davis he was known for his narrow thinking but he was also successful in winning many battles.
William Carney was an African American soldier for the Union during the Civil War. He was originally born as a slave and was given the Medal of Honor for saving, "regimental colors" , or otherwise known as flags.
Philip Bazaar was a man in the Navy but during the assault on Fort Fisher he decided to get off his ship and go help the people in the fort. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for his bravery.
