  • A: Narrators Attitude:  Elizabeth's care for Hooper “There is nothing so terrible in this veil,” she said, “except that it hides a face I am glad to look upon. Lay it aside, and tell me why you put it on.”
  • C: Physical Characteristics: Black Veil which covered his entire face except his mouth and chin & Sad smile. 
  • R: Readers Reaction: Mr.Hooper is a minister who wears a black veil that only shows his mouth and chin and people think he has committed a horrible crime although he is the same person he was before the veil.
  • S: Character's Speech: "When all of us shall cast aside our veils. Beloved friend, I will wear this piece of cloth till then. I have vowed to wear it always."
  • O: Other Character's Comment: "Our parson has gone mad!" cried Goodman Gray, following the minister into the meeting house.
