The Causes of the Cold War By: Eriley Torres
Even though many believe that the Cold War was an actual war, it was not. It was a verbal dispute of beliefs between the US and the Soviet Union
One reason that the Cold War began is that the Soviets did not agree with the Marshall Plan. The Soviets did not want the US to have control over their economy.
The US was a booming democracy, and The Soviet Union was a Communist economy. The two powers were at opposite ends of the political scale.
The further these oppositions continued, the further each country got into each others' politics. The US was afraid of Communism spreading and The Soviet Union was afraid of atomic bombs from the US.
The communist Bloc was another cause of the Cold War. The Communist Bloc was the increase of Soviet activity in Eastern Europe.
