Populist party - life in the west
This storyboard does not have a description.
The Populist Party started to form in the 1890s.
Farmers in the west were getting fed up with the lack of political recognition and power they were given when it comes to their problems.
Farmers wanted a policy that raised the price of crops. They were also in support of the free silver act, which calls for unlimited coining of silver.
This would cause more money to go into circulation, causing inflammation and making the prices of wheat and other crops more expensive, which of course gives farmers more money.
