Quiet down please, I am a scholar-monk and am taking you on a marvelous tour inside Baghdad, Iraq's House of Wisdom! This place was opened in the 8th century by Caliph Harun al-Rashid.
Oh ha ha, I was only kidding. If you have ever heard of this place you know the House of Wisdom is a bustling library. Here men and women, along with students of all ethnicities and faiths are welcomed! Especially if you have any WISDOM!!!!!!!
I am giving a tour and that is a great example of someone we would love to join us here. Some people think they are not needed at the House of Wisdom, but you are so wrong! Anyone from the Islamic civilization would be greatly appreciated. We could learn how they go about their lives, translate the Koran, and teach us about math and science.
Is there anyone here who could help me translate the Koran?
I have not even said all of it! Someone told me that he Islamic civilization has a fantastic understanding of pregnancy, surgeries, vision, blood streams, the brain, the heart, lungs, eyes, and digestive system. Even tools that are helpful during procedures.
Follow me, I have only read a small page on the Islamic Empire, let me try finding it.
Here it reads that Islam was well educated in astronomy due to their great tools. This included the telescope and globe. In math they started using a strange number called zeerow. I mean zero.
Who even knows how to pronounce it.!
Trading and urbanization allows a scholar-monk, like me to get exposed to different cultures that I never knew existed. I hope you are able to join me again sometime to explore the treasures in the House of Wisdom!
