pro athlete Jim Thorpe (Bright Path) uses his olympic level skills to seek justice for native americans being forced onto reservations during the era of colonization.

Storyboard Text

  • Bright Path: my fellow friends. I am so sorry for what you have been through. not all people share the understanding of of what life is in this world. you are apart of this world and contribute to the well being of the earth. I will do what i can to ensure your safety and well being.
  • Dear Bright Path, I am writing you to ask for your help. Since 1886 our lands, in what is now New Mexico, are being seriously devastated by the invaders. ranchers and colonists have been flooding in to the area and taking over our land. we need your help, please. -Geronimo leader of the Native resistance
  • Narrator: Bright Path is now on his way to New Mexico where he will assist Geronimo in the resistance against ranchers and settlers
  • My horse is gone!!
  • our food is gone!!!
  • Narrator: Bright Path successfully frees his animals friends from a life of slaughter and work. for the Native Americans bison and horses were key species that assisted in Native american life. Bison were a major food source that was almost driven to extinction due to over hunting.
  • Narrator: ranchers realize many of their livestock have gone missing. they find a note attached reading " Invaders, you have stolen our land which is part of our identity and culture. I will do everything in my power to ensure the safety of what is left. animals on this earth share the world the same as you do. until you can learn to respect these animals I will continue to free them. - Bright Path
  • Narrator: Geronimo attends a town meeting where community members are upset about Bright Paths actions. Geronimo: your way of life has been minorly impeded. my peoples way of life has been almost if not totally destroyed. we have been forced onto small amounts of land with little to no resources. we have been stripped of our heritage and our identity. I applaud the actions of this unsung hero, for he has brought you some of our suffering. 
  • after freeing the animals from settlers and slowing down the colonialist agenda Bright Path heads home knowing that he has assisted Native communities while impeding colonists.
