  • True!-nervous-very, very dreadfully nervous I had been and am; but why will you say that I am mad?

  • In the beginning, the narrator describes how he is sane, but the reader knows he is truly insane. He states the characters are himself, and the old man. He shares with us his plan to kill the old man. 
  • RISING ACTION
  • The narrator hated the old mans strange foggy eye. It was different. This Character vs.
  • CLIMAX
  • 
  • The narrator had started his plan. For seven days, the narrator would sneak into the old man's room and watch his sleep. 
  • RESOULUTION
  • The narrator kills the old man and slices off each of his limbs and stuffs them into the floorboards. 
  • The neighbors heard a shriek form the old man's house, and told the police. The narrator becomes over confident and lets the police in and sits with them. Until he hears the old mans dead beating heart.
  • The narrator heard the heart until he couldn't stand it anymore. He couldn't take the feel of guilt, so he turnd himself in to the police and got arrested.
