Storyboard Text

  • Let's go inside the cyclops cave and wait until he returns back home, I will take my 12 best men.
  • Maybe he'll accept gifts in return for something...
  • He's closed the boulder we're trapped!
  • 'Strangers, who are you? And where from? What brings you here by seaways-a fair traffic? Or are you wandering rouges, who cast your lives like dice, and ravage other folk by sea?'
  • Odysseus and his men set sail to find the next land. In the next land were cyclopes who didn't go by laws. A man was in his cave, he had his flocks with him, distant from companions, living savage ways.
  • Odysseus and his men lit a fire, and ate some of the cyclops food. They sat in silence and waited for the cyclops to come back. When the cyclops returned he had dry boughs to stoke the fire at suppertime.
  • Now what I have to do is plan an escape and set sail.
  • 'Cyclops, if ever mortal man inquire how you were put to shame and blinded, tell him Odysseus, raider of cities, took your eye: Laertes' son, whose home's on Ithaca!'
  • When the cyclops finished his chores he poked the fire and noticed the people. The cyclops questioned Odysseus, Odysseus told the cyclops that their boat had shipwrecked, and that his name is Nohbdy, but the cyclops didn't care.
  • Odysseus decided to trick the cyclops by getting him drunk with a liquid be brought along with him. The cyclops was drunk, hiccuping, he dribbled liquor and bits of men. Odysseus and his men had to get out.
  • Odysseus and his men made a big pointed stick and stabbed the cyclops' eye, their plan was to blind the cyclops. Odysseus had a plan to escape, to tie a man under every middle sheep and wait until morning for the cyclops to let his flocks out.
  • Odysseus and his men managed to escape. Odysseus was proud of his accomplishment and didn't think it was enough so he shouted to the cyclops his name and his home. The cyclops, son of Poseidon, told his father to not allow Odysseus to see Ithaca again.
