  • Captain! Captain! She can't see or hear!
  • Your not going anywhere.
  • My goodness Miss Annie.
  • Oh my, Miss Annie that is terrible!
  • You have two weeks Miss Annie.
  • Ok Miss Annie.
  • I grew up in a asylum myself.!
  • I must take Helen somewhere else.
  • Like this greenhouse.
  • The story begins by Kate(Helen's mom) finding out that Helen is blind and deaf. Kate was singing and clapping in front of Helen's face and she didn't recognize her hand movements and she didn't blink. Kate screamed for Captain Keller but Helen didn't make a sound. A few years after finding out about Helen's situation Kate wanted to write to the Perkins Institute and hire a teacher for Helen so she can communicate with her daughter and have a normal relationship. They send a young looking lady named Annie Sullivan.
  • Ho! Now your jealous huh?
  • This scene is when Annie figures out that Helen is a very spoiled child. Helen gets into a big fight and starts to punch kick and pinch Annie because she wouldn't let Helen touch her plate. Annie makes Helen sit in her seat and eat her food with her spoon. Annie also makes Helen fold her napkin. he then comes out to Kate and tells her that she folded her napkin . Kate cries over what she hears from Annie.
  • No outsiders please.
  • Yeah,she is testing you.
  • She is testing you don't you realize.
  • Let me take her.
  • Outsider! I'm her aunt!
  • Why, she is only a child.
  • Miss Annie I didn't get to welcome her home.
  • Alright Miss Annie.
  • You be quiet James.
  • It's been a few weeks since Annie has been at the Keller's house and she was talking to Mr. and Mrs. Keller about how they pity Helen and how they feel sorry for her. Annie told them that she had to teach Helen somewhere else where Kate and Captain Keller can't pity and coddle her. Annie asks Kate and Captain Keller if she can keep Helen in their greenhouse. Kate was happy to say yes because Annie wasn't going to take Helen somewhere far away. Helen and Annie have two weeks together in there. While Annie is with Helen she has to make Helen let her touch her.
  • WAH...WAH
  • Mrs.Keller... Mrs.Keller
  • The first day that Annie and Helen are in the greenhouse Helen throws a tantrum because she figures out that she i alone with Annie without her mother in a different place. Helen that night will not let Annie even get close to her . Annie calls Percy and tells him to play a game with her. Helen is excited to find Percy is with her. Annie pushes Helen away and says that she can't play with them. Helen becomes curious and finally pushes Percy away and makes Annie play with her. Helen finishes that words before Annie even put the letters in her hand.
  • After two weeks Kate takes Helen away from Annie and Annie knows that all her hard work is washed down the drain. Annie is scared that Helen will never learn and that she will not get that a word means something and that an object has a meaning. That night at the dinner table Helen doesn't put her napkin on and keeps dropping it on the ground. Helen tries eating with her hands but Annie quickly grabs her hands and puts them down. Helen grabs her mother. Kate says that she didn't get to be with her for long enough. Annie asks Kate if she can take her for a while. Kate pulls back.
  • While in the dining room Annie grabs Helen and tries to take her outside. Captain Keller grabs Helen sits her down. Annie is disappointed in him and while they fight Helen trows a water pitcher at Annie. She grabs Helen in anger and takes her outside. Annie makes Helen fill the pitcher up. While she makes her fill the pitcher Helen finally understands that a word has a meaning and that a object has a meaning. Helen finally tries to speak. She tries to say water but since she doesn't know how words are pronounced she would say WAH WAH.
