Storyboard Description

Roland spots the incoming Spanish invasion and sends his troops to relay the information. Him and a few other soldiers defend while the fastest soldiers run up to the front to notify them about the attack. Roland is able to defend for an hour before reinforcements come but unfortunately, he loses his focus and dies in battle.

Storyboard Text

  • The Basques are coming! One of you run to the front to get reinforcements!
  • The Frankish army marches foward while the Basques lie in wait for a surprise attack.
  • What is the meaning of this?!
  • We were attacked in the rear by the Basques and we need to halt the march and send reinforcements
  • HALT!
  • The Basques begin the attack while Roland alerts the army of the danger
  • Although Roland was able to defend against the Basques for so long, he died just after reinforcements came.
  • Sir we brought in reinforcements!
  • Roland gets one of his soldiers on a horse to rush to the front of the battlefield to send the message to stop and send reinforcements while Roland defends against the Basque invasion.
  • The army is halted by this message and proceeds to send reinforcements to Roland in order to defeat the Basques.
  • Roland is eventually defeated by the basques right after reinforcements came.
  • The Basques are heavily outnumbered so they run away scattered so the army can't chase them
