  • Act 3 Scene 1
  • "Ay, ay, a scratch, a scratch. Marry, 'tis enough"
  • Act 3 Scene 2
  • "Shall I speak ill of him that is my husband?"
  • Romeo and Juliet, deeply in love have to face ongoing problems between their two families. As the tension rises they are caught in the middle. There love for each other is strong and will prevail.
  • Act 3 Scene 3
  • Tybalt arrives seeking to fight with Romeo. Once Romeo arrives Mercutio challenges Tybalt to a duel. Romeo tries to defend his friend but Mercutio is soon killed by Tybalt. Romeo vows for revenge.
  • Act 3 Scene 4
  • "I think she will be ruled / In all respects by me"
  • Upon hearing the news that her lover Romeo has killed her cousin Tybalt in battle Juilet eventually realizes that she would rather have Romeo in her life then anyone else. She is glad he won the fight .
  • Act 3 Scene 5
  • "Ancient damnation!"
  • Friar Lawrence attempts to convince Romeo that banishment is better that the death sentence. However, Romeo knows that being seperated from Juliet is far worse than any death.
  • "Wert thou as young as I, Juliet thy love.../ Then mightst thou speak"
  • Lord Capulet decides that Juliet will marry Paris and not Romeo. The wedding will take place later that week. Paris is happy with this news.
  • Once Juliet hears about the news of her marriage arrangement she is furious. Even the Nurse who supported Romeo and Juliet's relationship tries to convince her that Paris is a good and kind man. Juliet then looks to seek advice from Friar Lawrence.
