Storyboard Text

  • The two have brought their injured swan to the Guru. Devadatta began to tell his side of the tale. Once he had finished, the Guru had turned towards Siddhartha to tell his side of the story.
  • He Shot It!
  • Calm down both of you!
  • Yeah so give it to me. I want to hurt it more.
  • Siddhartha explained “The swan was doing no harm, and was just sitting on the river. Devadatta was the one who shot it for no reason and I was the one that saved it. It does not belong to Devadatta because he will continue to hurt it.

  • The Guru had made his decision. “The swan belongs to Siddhartha because of his selflessness. He had saved the swan although he had not done anything to harm him”. Devadatta was furious. He stormed off and swore that he would get even with Siddhartha, however Siddhartha did not mind. He was happy that he had saved the swan from the arrow and potential death from Devadatta.
