Storyboard Text

  • Hello young man, my name is Aaron have you ever heard of a disease called Alzheimer's?
  • It is an irreversible, progressive brain disorder that slowly destroys memory and thinking skills, and eventually the ability to carry out the simplest tasks.
  • No Aaron I have not, my name is Dave. What is this Alzheimer's?
  • Some causes include a combination of age-related changes in the brain, along with genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors. I think of it as “Alzheimer's disease is death before death", and i'm terrified of it happening to me. Some ways to help or prevent Alzheimer's is social engagement and intellectual stimulation.
  • Did you know that an estimated 45% of American seniors 85 and older suffer from Alzheimer’s, and 1 in 10 people aged 65 and over has Alzheimer’s disease. More than half of the 5.4 million Americans with the disease may not know they have it, and symptoms of the disease can develop in people as young as age 30.
  • Wow Aaron that is a lot of helpful information, I know a lot about Alzheimer's now, thank you!
