  • God has spoken, God said he will bring us to the Promise land!
  • We should spread the good news to everyone!
  • I am Yahweh, you're going to let my people go!
  • Saul will be your first king!
  • We are so happy!!
  • Jewish history began around this time with a man named Abraham. His wife Sarah gave birth to Isaac. Isaac had 12 sons which we get the 12 tribes of Israel. One of the 12 was Joseph who settled in Egypt where he was later joined by his family.The Hebrews lived in Egypt for 150 years before things turned bad. 
  • Hurry up!!
  • AROUND 1290 B.C, Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt in an event called the Passover and Yahweh formed the covenant at Mount Sinai with the people. The Israelites then settled in Promise land. It was called Cannan. They faced many battles
  • We want our freedom!!!

  • In 1000 B.C the kingdom of Irasel was formed. Saul was the first king, followed by David who would be the greatest of all kings. He established Jerusalem as the major city. His son Solomon built the temple. Eventually the land would become divide. The Northern kingdom was called Israel and the Southern kingdom was called Judah.
  • Hello everyone
  • Around 323-200 B.C, the Greek empire expanded and took over Israel and Judah. It was renamed Palestine. After Alexanders death the land was divided among 2 army generals in Syria and Egypt. The Greek introduced the Greek language and laws to the Jews. 
  • After the Greek rule, came Roman rule and the Jews were again no longer free people. The Roman people selected a man  from Idumea named Herod to rule. In 66 A.D the Jews wanted their independence back and a group called Zealots led a rebellion against the Roman. It was unsuccessful.
  • 70 A.D-1948 during this time Jews struggled to free. Religion became the center of their life and the religion leaders called rabbis became very valuable to the Jewish community. In 1948 Palestine was divided and a new country called Israel was created.
