  • Battle of Brooklyn
  • If we leave the campfires burning we will be able to trick the British
  • The Patriots are to attack!
  • Battle of Trenton/Princeton
  • But my men can not handle this work, they are exhausted and unprepared.
  • Battle of Saratoga
  • Yes,  thank you so much, this means a lot!
  • Hi I'm France, because of your recent victory we would like to ally with you in hope of defeating England.
  • During the Battle of Brooklyn, George Washington had an idea to leave the campfires burning, leaving the British to believe that they were still there. Washington and his troops went by boat through fog to Manhattan, giving them another day to fight.
  • Winter at Valley Forge
  • Lets go!  We need to train and make you ready for future battles!
  • The food is bad and everyone's dying! Its's to cold!
  • Washington's surprise attack, was not a complete secret. The word about the attack got to Hessian Colonel, Johann Rall. With this information Rall tried to rally and create a defensive perimeter. However, this did not work because of his men being exhausted. With the Patriots having these advantages,  the Americans were  able to win the battle.
  • The Southern Campaign (Cowpens & Guilford Courthouse)
  • I can not believe we had a pyrrhic victory! We lost so many of our troops!
  • The Battle of Saratoga was considered a "turning point" of the revolution, causing France to ally with the Patriots. This gave them hope to win the battle against their mother country.
  • The Battle/Siege of Yorktown
  • AAHAHAHHAHA! You're surrounded!
  • Fine. We surrender.
  •  Since it was impossible to transfer troops in the cold and harsh winter, they were stationed in Valley Forge to train. The soldiers had a tough time getting through this period, with disease spreading; killing two thousand out of the ten thousand stationed.  On top of death, their was a massive food shortage and inadequate food.
  • At Guilford Courthouse, the British wanted to gain support from Loyalists.  With this battle the British lost 27% of their troops. The British realized that the Americans have gone from a weak to strong army.
  • Cornwallis, a British Commander stationed his troops in Yorktown, Virginia. Washington with this knowledge was able block the British by land and sea. Being completely surrounded, on October 17, 1781, Cornwallis surrendered, ending the War of Independence.
