  • CONFLICT
  • RISING ACTION
  • On a sunny summer morning Tessie, Bill, and their family  are surrounded by crowds of people in their small village to do the tradition of a lottery.
  • CLIMAX
  • No one wants to get picked because then one of their family members could die soon if they get chosen to be stoned. Then when they open up their papers the person who got chosen to get stoned was Bill. 
  • FALLING ACTION
  • Then Bill's family all choses from a punch of crumbled up papers. They are about to open up the papers to see who got chosen to get stoned. 
  • RESOLUTION
  • Tessie finds out that she "won" the lottery and now has to get stoned. Everyone realizes that Tessie now has to get stoned and her whole family is sad. 
  • The villagers each had two stones. One in one hand and one in another. Everyone is preparing to stone Tessie. 
  • Tessie gets stoned, and while she is getting stoned, the people start surrounding her and closing in on her. Then, one of the stones hit her in the head.
