In 1800s America, life was difficult. Frisco was a teenager who lived with his family in the outer regions of Chicago. He was labored and endured tough circumstances, but he still loved his family without doubt. He lost his father at a very young age.
His family is very poor and malnourished. But, Frisco finds opportunity. He has the chance to lead a full wagon train to Oregon and travel back, for a selected amount of money that would help his family immensely.
At first, Frisco hesitates to accept the offer. He knows survival tactics but he is not a natural leader. He doubts himself and thinks over immensely about it.
