The story begins with the middle-aged carpenter, John, and his beautiful young wife, Alison, who longs for a fun time. To make some extra money, the carpenter rents out another room to an oxford student, Nicholas, who studies astrology. This provides the perfect opportunity for the two young people to have an affair.
Alison's recent visit to the church caused the parish clerk, Absalon, to also fall in love with her, however she does not return the love. Without much effort, the playboy Nicholas woos Alison and the two lovers carry out their affair in secret. Out of fear that John may discover their relationship, the two devise a plan.
In order to have a successful relationship with Alison, Nicholas tricks John into thinking that there will soon be a flood twice that of Noah's Ark. So in preperation, he tells John to tie boats to the roof and sleep in them. This way when the flood comes they will be safely afloat.
When night time arrives, the three people sleep in the boat. However, John is quick to fall asleep which gives an opening for the two lovers to escape and make love to eachother.
I love you!
After the two are done making love, they notice Absalon outside courting Alison. Absalon wishes for a kiss and, surprisingly, Alison agrees. But instead of sticking her face out the window, she lets Absalon kiss her rear end. Noticing that women don't have hair on their faces, Absalon vows to get revenge.
When Absalon returns, he wishes the same request. As a joke, Nicholas does the same thing as Alison did. However, this time Absalon has prepared a piping hot iron to meet their bottom.
